The format will be the same as last year....AGM
starting at NOON to be followed by a West Indian Buffet Lunch starting
at 1.00 p.m.

A donation of $60.00 each is required for lunch; for
which a tax deductible receipt will be forthcoming.

Vice Chancellor's Award for Dr Karl Massiah and Dr
John Stewart
In a letter dated August 19 2010 from UWI VIce Chancellor
Dr Nigel Harris, Dr Karl Massiah, current UWIMAA Toronto Chapter
President, has been informed that he is to be the recipient of the
prestigious Vice Chancellor's award. Dr Massiah is a founding member of
UWIMAA and an active contributor to its affairs over many years as we all
know.
Dr John Stewart, Neurologist, a UWI graduate in
1967, former professor at McGill University in Canada now a community
based neurologist in Vancouver,Canada has been a leading light of
worldwide renown in his field of Peripheral Neuropathy
The award will be presented at this year's UWI Toronto Gala
In Dr Harris's letter, he remarks:
"The
Vice Chancellor’s Award is given to persons of Caribbean heritage who are
“rising stars” in their organizations in Canada or graduates of The
University of the West Indies who have had outstanding achievements"

DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT
PUCK BRAS (nee Bitter) , (27/12/1916 – 24/2/2011) widow of the
late Professor Gerrit Bras passed away peacefully at home in Zeist,
Holland on February 24,2011, leaving daughter Phyllis Sciriha (Toronto,
Canada) and son Paul , also a doctor (London, England)
Mrs. Elaine Brooks, widow of Prof. Stanley Brooks like many of you,
remembers with fondness the family and their time with us in Jamaica, and
pays tribute to the memories of those days.
